Specialist Foot Care

Medical Pedicure

Clinical precision for conditions that go beyond standard salon care.

Specialist Treatment

For foot conditions that need more than a standard treatment.

A medical pedicure is necessary when podiatric problems are present, such as fungal nails, warts, or ingrown toenails. These conditions are often overlooked or left untreated for too long. At Victoria's Beauty & Nails, every appointment begins with a thorough examination of your feet. If a problem is found, Victoria will inform you clearly, give tailored advice, and treat it with the appropriate care and attention it deserves.

01 What We Treat

Beyond standard
salon care.

A standard pedicure focuses on maintenance and cosmetics. The medical pedicure goes significantly further, addressing underlying nail and skin conditions that cause discomfort, damage, or long-term health concerns. Victoria takes these conditions seriously and treats them with professional grade tools and techniques.

Each medical pedicure begins with a thorough examination of the nails and surrounding skin. Victoria will discuss her findings with you before starting treatment, and will outline what to expect during and after the appointment. Complex or recurring conditions may require multiple sessions.

02 The Approach

Assessed first.
Treated accordingly.

The medical pedicure does not follow a fixed routine. Victoria assesses the nails and skin at the start of every appointment and decides on the appropriate treatment based on what she finds. Every step is explained to you before it begins.

01

Examination

Victoria examines the nails and surrounding skin thoroughly before any treatment begins.

02

Discussion

Findings are explained clearly. Victoria outlines what she intends to do and why.

03

Treatment

Condition-specific treatment is applied using professional grade tools and techniques.

04

Aftercare

Personalised aftercare advice is given. Follow-up appointments are scheduled if needed.

For ingrown nails, Victoria uses specialist tools to address the problem carefully and without unnecessary discomfort. For fungal conditions, the focus is on debridement and preparation alongside thorough aftercare advice. Thickened or dystrophic nails are treated with appropriate filing and care techniques.

If a condition is beyond what can be treated in a salon setting, Victoria will tell you honestly and advise on the right next step, whether that is a GP, podiatrist, or specialist.

Please note: the medical pedicure is not a substitute for medical care. Victoria will always refer you to the appropriate professional if your condition requires it.

03 Toenail Reconstruction

Aesthetically restored.
Naturally finished.

Toenail prosthetics are crafted from artificial nail material and applied directly to the natural toenail to replace a missing or partially missing nail. The result is an aesthetically seamless finish that restores the appearance of the nail without surgery or lengthy recovery.

This is a highly effective solution for nails damaged by injury, pressure, or physical wear. The prosthetic integrates with the remaining nail structure and is shaped and finished to look entirely natural. It can be worn with or without gel polish and is indistinguishable from the surrounding nails.

Not Suitable For

Active Nail Infections

Prosthetics cannot be applied to nails affected by a fungal infection or other active infection. If prosthetics are applied to a nail that subsequently develops a condition, or if there is any uncertainty about the state of the underlying nail, regular monitoring is essential, particularly when wearing closed shoes. An infected nail that is growing under a prosthetic without regular checks can cause further complications if left unattended.

Please note: toenail prosthetics require a healthy nail bed to adhere to. Victoria will assess the nail before any prosthetic is applied and will not proceed if an infection or contraindication is present.
